Wispy cirrus clouds are located in the center of the photo and these are made of ice crystals. The ice crystals are scattering light and this is creating the colors of the sunset. The bigger and darker cloud is stratus. Stratus is often flat and it looks like rain, but because they're thin, it will likely stay dry.
