The sun is setting and light is being scattered by particles in the sky. When light is scattered, it spreads out in different wavelengths and that is why the sky changes color. The darker clouds are cumulus. These are low-lying and usually mean fair weather. The higher and thinner clouds are cirrostratus. These often don't bring rain, but can be the leading edge of a warm front.
